Anne had barely been in the ground for twenty four hours before Henry announced he would remarry and this time to the Lady Jane Seymore, one of Anne's own lady-in-waiting. Jane is almost a footnote when it comes to Tudor History, she was queen consort for barely a year before she passed away. She is remembered for giving Henry the son he had always hoped for. Most people, like myself, who love and admire Anne Boleyn tend to give Jane the stink eye and not the time of day. I, however, have taken a liking to her recently and decided to do a little digging and reading to find out who this woman was, how she captured the heart of a king, to make him overthrow the woman he had changed his country for only three years after he had married her.
When Jane was recieving gifts from Henry behind Anne's back, she did the same tricks Anne had used herself. They would both send their gifts back and refuse to sleep with Henry. Both gave him the choice, "Queen or nothing. Wife or nothing".
Just as quickly as she had caught the attention of the King Henry VIII, was how quickly she became Queen and how quickly she gave Henry his most desired wish, a boy, a prince and heir to make sure the Tudor dynasty would continue.
Jane was everything Anne wasn't; and for Henry, who wanted a change of life, Jane was the perfect person to bring forth his new kingdom, his own reinassance. Where Anne had dark skin, brown hair and dark eyes Jane had a light skin complection, blonde hair and blue eyes. Anne was firey and outspoken and held nothing back from the King when it came to his affairs and the way he treated her and other women. Jane was quiet and understood not to meddle in Henry's politics.
Because Anne had emursed herself with Henry, she often put her nose where it didn't belong and gave her opinon when it was not needed. Jane would only meddle in one affair, reuniting Henry with his two daughters and having them put back in his will as heirs to throne after their own children.
With Jane, Henry would have all wishes and dreams come true. He would recieve a loyal, loving, and appropriately behaved wife and his heir and Prince, Edward (VI). But in the end he would loose his wife, and his son would only succed
