Welcome To Tudor Life! (UNDER CONSTRUCTION)
Everyone enjoys the beautiful look and romance of the Tudor era, but I find no matter how much people love the Tudors, they don't know what and how they lived from day to day life. Everything in the Tudor era was done with much thought. It's hard to figure out they scheduales, and why's unless its all posted under the same page, and I have yet to find a refrence that has done all the work for you, so I took it upon myself to add, The Tudor Life section of this website and help YOU learn why they did what they did, when they did it.
Religion
Religion was one of the most imporant things to the Tudors. They beleieved they would have a whole eternal life When they woke and dressed they would go to chapel afterwards. Though many people lost their lives during the reigns of Henry VIII, Edward VI, and Mary I for the differences in religion, Catholic vs Protostats. When Henry VIII came to the throne in the early 1500's he came to the throne as a Catholic, and by the time 1527 came around, everything began to change. Though executions where common, men were happy to go to their deaths in the hope of being recieved in Heaven and God's good graces. Prayers were just as important to them as faith, if you did not pray inside the church your god would not hear you.
Marriage
Marriage has always been a complicated matter, though they weren't the white wedding dress ceremonies that we've come to know today, but infact completey private. Marriage was laid out by the Catholic Church in Rome.
Clothing
When it comes to the clothing in the Tudor - Rein era it was hard for me to find the information I wanted and needed to share with you all. It wasn't until I was watching an Elizabethan documentry when I got one small scentence that was so quick, I had to watch it three times to get it. Clothing states where you are in the world, (one thing that won't ever change). Not only could people wear certain colors, but you also had to wear the right fabrics.
